2018 Horse Show #1 Entry Deadline Reminder

Remember entries for our 2018 horse show #1 close Monday p.m. January 22 preceding the event date of January 27 at the Porterville Fairgrounds. The current weather forecast is for no rain on show day but in case that changes the fairgrounds has covered pipe pens, covered warm up areas and a covered show arena. 2018 Bylaws & Rules Handbook Error

Rules 4n and 4o are incorrect in the 2018 Bylaws and Rules handbooks distributed at the awards banquet. The corrections have been submitted to the printer and corrected copies of the handbooks will be available for pick up at horse show #1 at the Porterville Fairgrounds on Saturday January 27. The correct rules as previously posted are: n. CCHA Intermediate Non-Pro Limited: See current year’s NRCHA Rule Book Rules 3.8 and 3.8.2. except open to approved non-pro riders who have not: i) Finished in first place in year-end points standings in CCHA intermediate non-pro limited in any previous show year

2017 Awards Banquet Update & Reminder

Final Reminder! Reservations for our annual membership meeting and awards banquet must close this Monday January 5 to meet the caterer’s preparation deadline. This year we are pleased to offer in addition at no charge a judging seminar presented by NRCHA professional and AA judge Lance Johnston. Lance will make a presentation and answer questions. The event will start with the judging seminar from 2-4 p.m., followed by the membership meeting from 4-5 p.m. and concluding with a no host bar, dinner and awards presentations. 2018 Show Staff Announced

We are pleased to have Saddle Up Enterprises back as our show secretary for 2018, with Kathy Gould in the office and Laura Norman on site at our events. Working closely with Laura Norman at our events will be our bookkeeper Kristy Johnson. And we are pleased to welcome Sophie Larsson-Priest as our show manager for our 2018 events at the International Agri-Center. Also returning for all our events will be our longtime show announcer Mark VanBlankenstein. 2018 CCHA Novice and 5K Non Pro Limited Rule Changes Announced

The eligibility rules for the CCHA novice non pro limited class have been revised as follows: See current year’s NRCHA Rule Book Rules 3.8 and 3.8.3. except open to approved non-pro riders who have not: i) Finished in the top 5 in year-end points standings in any CCHA non-pro limited class in any previous show year and ii) Earned more than $500 lifetime earnings combined in all non-pro limited classes in any association.
