Thanks to several members who brought to our attention the fact that we did not have a clear and consistent year-end awards policy for 2017, the board discussed and approved the following year-end awards policy for 2018:
1) Every CCHA approved class will be subject to the same year-end awards policy.
2) The number of year-end awards in every CCHA approved class will be based on the number of qualified open horses or non pro horse and rider combinations (hereinafter referred to as “qualified exhibitors”) as defined in rule 10 “Year-end Performance awards” in the 2018 CCHA Bylaws and Rules handbook (“…must meet the minimum requirements of competing in one-half of the shows and earning at least one non-zero score.”).
i) In classes with 1-2 qualified exhibitors, 1 place will be awarded.
ii) In classes with 3-4 qualified exhibitors, 3 places will be awarded.
iii) In classes with 5-9 qualified exhibitors, 5 places will be awarded.
iv) In classes with 10 or more qualified exhibitors, 10 places will be awarded.
3) In classes with 1-6 qualified exhibitors, the champion will receive a trophy buckle.
4) In classes with 7 or more qualified exhibitors, the champion will receive a trophy saddle and the reserve champion will receive a trophy buckle.
The year-end awards policy also is posted on our Facebook page and will be noted on the class list for all of our remaining 2018 events.
We look forward to watching exhibitors in every CCHA approved class competing for clearly specified year-end awards this year.
